For Job Seekers

How do I create an account?
Click Sign in in the top-right, then Register as job seeker. It's free. You'll be asked for your email, a password, a one-line headline (e.g. “Senior Backend Engineer”), your timezone, and years of experience. You can build out the rest of your profile after signing in.
What's the difference between Free, Silver, Gold, and Platinum for job seekers?
Free includes 3 applications per month, a weekly job digest, and the ability to browse all listings. Silver ($9/mo) removes the application cap, adds daily alerts and full profile visibility, and lets you DM employers. Gold ($19/mo) adds priority profile placement, salary intelligence, and lets recruiters contact you. Platinum ($39/mo) puts you at the top of search results and includes career-coaching content and a headhunter intro service. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
Why am I limited to 3 applications per month on Free?
Two reasons. First, it forces you to apply thoughtfully — quality beats quantity. Second, it's our anti-spam defence: most platforms let AI-driven mass-applicants drown employers in identical applications. Our cap means your applications stand out by default. Upgrade to Silver for unlimited if you're in an active job search.
How does Smart Match work?
When an employer views your profile, our system computes how well you match the role on three dimensions: Skills, Salary alignment, and Timezone compatibility. Gold and Platinum employers also see an AI-written narrative explaining why you're a match (or where the gaps are). You don't control the score directly — the more complete your profile, the more signal it has to work with.
What's the 'Why this role specifically?' field for?
It's a one-sentence prompt that helps you stand out. AI can't fake genuine specificity (“My partner just relocated to Trinidad” or “Your async-first culture matches how I work best”). Employers see your answer prominently next to your name on their applications screen. Strong answers materially improve your chances.
How do I upload my CV?
Two ways: (1) Your profile CV — set once at Account → Edit profile and it's shared with employers by default. (2) Per-application CV — when applying to a specific role, you can upload a tailored CV that overrides your profile CV for that one application. PDF only, up to 5 MB.
What are the assessments and do I have to take them?
They're optional. We offer three science-backed batteries at /assessments: Big Five Personality (IPIP-50, ~7 min), Cognitive Ability (20 items, timed, ~15 min), and Work Values & Motivation (~5 min). Completing them sharpens Smart Match results and gives employers more signal. Gold and Platinum seekers also receive an AI-written narrative of their results.
How do interviews work on the platform?
When an employer wants to interview you, they propose 2-3 time slots and (optionally) a video meeting link (Zoom, Teams, Meet — whatever they prefer). You confirm one slot at /interviews. Both of you then get a confirmation email with the meeting attached as a calendar invite — one click to add to Outlook, Gmail, or Apple Calendar.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Account & billing, click Manage subscription, and cancel through Stripe's self-serve portal. Your tier benefits continue until the end of the current billing period, then revert to Free. No retention games, no calls required.
I forgot my password.
Use the forgot-password page. We email a one-hour reset link to the address on your account. If you don't see it within a couple of minutes, check the spam folder.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — contact us and we'll process it within 30 days. We'll also send you a copy of your data first if you ask. See our privacy policy for the full data-handling story.

For Employers

How do I post a job?
Sign in as an employer, then go to /post-a-job. Fill in the title, category, type, modality (Remote/Hybrid/On-site), location, and a description of at least 50 characters. Optional fields include salary range, an external application URL, and (Silver tier and up) screening questions. Jobs go live immediately.
What's the difference between the employer tiers?
Free: 1 active listing, 30-day duration, basic candidate list. Silver ($49/mo): 5 listings, screening questions, 1 featured/mo, applicant management. Gold ($129/mo): 15 listings, 60-day duration, candidate search, DM all seekers, 3 featured/mo. Platinum ($299/mo): unlimited listings, full analytics, priority placement, unlimited featured, top-picks digest. Full breakdown at employer pricing.
What is Smart Match?
Our system-computed candidate-job fit score (0-100). It rates how well a candidate matches your role on Skills, Salary, and Timezone. Gold and Platinum tiers get an AI-written narrative explaining the score plus a feedback loop: when you log interview outcomes, the system learns your preferences and weights future scoring accordingly.
What is the Smart Score?
Our flagship feature. Smart Score combines Smart Match (the algorithm's view of fit) with your screening-question aggregate into a single 0-100 ranking that you can sort by. The best candidate is at the top — every time. No other platform combines these signals into a unified, sortable number. See it in action on any of your job dashboards.
What are screening questions and how do they work?
When you post a job (Silver tier and up), you can add up to 5 multiple-choice questions. Each answer choice has a hidden 0-5 score that you set. Applicants must answer all questions to submit, but they never see the scoring weights. The system aggregates the answers into a 0-100% screening score that feeds into the Smart Score and is visible only to you.
What's the AI-likelihood badge on cover letters?
Every cover letter is rated by Claude (Anthropic's AI) on a 0-100 scale for how AI-generated it appears. Green chips (<40) read as human writing; amber (40-69) is mixed signal; red (70+) shows clear AI tells. The badge is a signal, not a verdict — you still make the call. Hover for the AI's reasoning.
How do I schedule an interview with a candidate?
On the applications page for any job, click Interview on a candidate. Pick 2-3 time slots, optionally add a meeting link (Zoom, Teams, Meet — bring your own), and send. The candidate confirms one slot and both of you get a calendar invite attached to the email. Interview scheduling is a Silver tier and up feature.
How do I mark a candidate as hired?
On the applications page, click the green ✓ Mark as hired button on their card. You'll be asked whether to also mark the job as filled (removes it from the public board) and whether to auto-decline the other applicants (sends them a polite “role has been filled” email). The hired candidate gets a warm congratulations email automatically.
What's the Hero Boost?
A paid à-la-carte product: $129 buys 14 days of premium hero-slot visibility on the homepage — top of the rotation, with a ★ Sponsored badge. Use it when you have a hard-to-fill role and want maximum eyeballs. Add from your job dashboard at /job-dashboard.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Account & billing and click Manage subscription. Cancellation stops future charges; your tier benefits remain through the current billing period. Your existing job listings stay live for the duration their posting allows.
What's your refund policy?
Handled case-by-case via Stripe's standard policies. For subscription cancellations: no automatic refund of unused time, but we're reasonable — reach out if you have a specific situation. Hero Boosts are non-refundable once the 14-day window starts.

Is SmartJobLinks Caribbean-only?
Our focus is Caribbean talent, but jobs come from everywhere — including remote roles posted by US, UK, European, and global companies that want Caribbean hires. Caribbean employers can also hire from anywhere. We're a regional gateway, not a walled garden.
Is the platform mobile-friendly?
Yes. The entire site works on phones and tablets — every page, every workflow. You can also “install” SmartJobLinks on your phone as a Progressive Web App (PWA): just visit on mobile and the browser will prompt you to add it to your home screen. A native iOS / Android app via the App Store + Play Store is in the works.
Is there a mobile app?
A Progressive Web App is available today — installable from your phone's browser with a home-screen icon and standalone window. Native iOS and Android apps via the App Store and Google Play are scheduled for our major launch in October.
What's the chat widget in the corner?
That's HireFly, our AI helpdesk assistant. She can answer common questions about pricing, posting a job, applying, Smart Match, and more — 24/7. If she can't answer, she flags the question to our team and gets back to you by email. Powered by Claude (Anthropic).
How do I contact support?

Is my data secure?
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS / TLS) for everything in transit. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed and never logged. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see, store, or transmit your credit card details. Full data-handling specifics are in our privacy policy.
