The Opportunity Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau is looking for a visionary, hands-on General Manager who can pair disciplined business leadership with the relaxed, welcoming spirit of the Margaritaville brand. This leader will set the strategic direction for the resort, create clear accountability across departments, and ensure that every aspect of the operation delivers exceptional value for guests, associates, ownership, and brand partners. The ideal candidate brings significant leadership experience in a large, full-service resort environment, with depth across rooms, food and beverage, entertainment, spa, recreation, sales, revenue management, and property operations. Caribbean experience is strongly preferred.
About the Resort Set along the Caribbean waters in downtown Nassau, the resort offers modern guest rooms, spacious suites, and luxury residences. Guests can enjoy a wide range of experiences, including Fins Up! Water Park, the FlowRider® Surf Simulator, St. Somewhere Spa, Parakeets Kid’s Club, Icons Sports Bar and Entertainment Center, island-inspired dining, beachfront recreation, and a private marina. About the Role
General Manager
What You Will Lead Set and execute the resort’s strategic direction while building a culture centered on service, accountability, collaboration, and associate engagement. Provide visible leadership across rooms, food and beverage, recreation, spa, entertainment, sales, revenue management, finance, engineering, security, and guest experience. Partner closely with ownership, corporate leadership, and brand representatives to align priorities, communicate results, and advance long-term property goals. Drive revenue growth, profitability, productivity, and disciplined expense management while protecting the guest experience and brand promise. Develop a strong leadership bench through coaching, succession planning, performance management, and clear expectations. Serve as a trusted ambassador for the resort with guests, associates, clients, community partners, vendors, and government stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Financial Performance & Owner Relations
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and regular performance reviews in partnership with property leadership and ownership.
• Analyze financial and operational trends, identify risks and opportunities, and adjust strategies proactively as market conditions evolve.
• Optimize all resort revenue streams while maintaining strong controls, productivity standards, and operating discipline.
• Provide clear, timely reporting to ownership and executive leadership, including results, outlook, priorities, and corrective actions.
• Lead capital planning and property improvement priorities with a focus on guest impact, asset protection, and return on investment.
Guest Experience, Brand & Operations
• Champion a consistent, high-quality guest experience that reflects the Margaritaville brand and the culture of Nassau.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, engage with guests and associates, and ensure concerns are resolved promptly and professionally.
• Conduct regular property walks and operational reviews to uphold cleanliness, maintenance, safety, quality assurance, and brand standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, life-safety, security, risk management, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Ensure effective collaboration across all operating departments, especially during high-demand periods, major events, and resort activations.
Commercial Leadership
• Partner with sales, marketing, revenue management, and food and beverage leaders to strengthen demand generation, pricing, positioning, and total resort revenue.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts, clients, community partners, and tourism stakeholders.
• Review market trends, competitive performance, pace, channel mix, and guest insights to inform commercial decisions.
• Support meetings, weddings, leisure, local, and group business strategies while ensuring operational readiness and successful execution.
People, Culture & Talent
• Attract, develop, coach, and retain a diverse leadership team capable of delivering both immediate results and long-term growth.
• Clearly define decision rights, performance expectations, and accountability for direct reports and department leaders.
• Build an inclusive, positive workplace where associates are respected, recognized, trained, and empowered to serve guests.
• Ensure consistent application of company policies, HR practices, local employment requirements, and ethical standards.
• Maintain effective communication rhythms, including leadership meetings, financial reviews, training, and cross-functional planning.
Compliance & Community Partnership
• Ensure the resort operates in compliance with applicable Bahamian laws, licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Build productive relationships with local authorities, vendors, business partners, and community organizations.
• Protect the resort’s reputation through sound judgment, responsible stewardship, and consistent professional conduct.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by ownership or senior management.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience, including General Manager or senior executive leadership in a large, full-service resort environment.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-outlet operations with substantial food and beverage, recreation, spa, entertainment, and guest-service components.
• Caribbean resort experience strongly preferred. International or island-market leadership experience is highly valued.
• Proven ability to improve financial performance, grow revenue, manage flow-through, control expenses, and lead disciplined budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong owner-relations experience and the ability to communicate with credibility, transparency, and sound business judgment.
• Track record of building positive workplace cultures, developing leaders, and holding teams accountable for measurable results.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with local agencies, community partners, and a culturally diverse workforce.
