Role Description The SENIOR CAPITAL & INVESTMENT DEALMAKER is a full-time, hybrid role based in Port of Spain, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and closing capital and investment deals that support Hunter Stern Construction’s growth in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Day-to-day activities include identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting financial and risk analyses, and preparing investment proposals and deal models. The role collaborates with senior leadership, finance, and operations teams to align capital strategies with project pipelines and long-term business objectives. Responsibilities also include negotiating terms with investors and lenders, maintaining strong relationships with financial institutions and strategic partners, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
• Strong skills in capital raising, investment structuring, and deal negotiation for construction or real estate projects.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data clearly.
• Experience in relationship management with investors, lenders, and strategic partners, including pipeline development and stakeholder communication.
• Knowledge of construction, real estate, or infrastructure markets, including project financing methods and contract structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear proposals, term sheets, and presentations.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA) is an asset.
• Previous senior-level experience in investment banking, project finance, private equity, corporate development, or a similar environment.
• Comfort working in a hybrid setting, with the discipline to manage time effectively between on-site and remote work.
