Description
The Project Manager is responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring that field activities align with project specifications and safety standards. With a focus on leadership and technical proficiency, the role requires strong project management skills, the ability to solve complex engineering challenges on-site, and effective communication with stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software, as well as a deep understanding of engineering principles and field operations, is essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute activities related to end-to-end project management, including project plans and estimates, scoping, and progress reports.
• Support the preparation of quotations, estimates, and proposals for engineering and design-build opportunities, including review of client requirements, development of scopes and execution strategies, preparation of project schedules and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other external parties to obtain pricing, technical information, schedules, and other inputs required for proposals and project execution.
• Proactively monitor, manage and report on execution of deliverables.
• Effectively manage multiple projects for various discipline groups.
• Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed both client and internal expectations by implementing a deliverable quality assurance review appropriate to the project size and scope.
• Work logically and systematically, with good time management.
• Identify and assemble project teams to meet project requirements.
• Communicate with clients, internal team members and support services to ensure alignment.
• Proactively define and mitigate overall project risk through interaction with the project team and clients.
• Perform site visits, site inspections and field engineering roles.
• Develop and implement complex engineering and field programs.
• Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Flexibility and the ability to manage change with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Perform site visits and conduct fieldwork with a focus on safety.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
Education, Experience & Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in industrial installations; experience in managing/coordinating engineering projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. A combination of relevant technical education and significant project delivery experience may also be considered.
• Detail driven with an eye for consistency and good with numbers.
• The ability to multi-task and prioritize a heavy, sometimes demanding workload.
• The ability to work with minimal instruction, filling in the blanks and asking questions when needed but also being able to contribute positively in a team environment.
• Must have a valid driver's license
Working conditions
• Environmental: A combination of working mostly in the office but also conducting field visits and travelling throughout Barbados and the Caribbean for both work and business development as well as professional development.
• Physical: Standing/sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and operating motorized equipment.
