Massy Remittance Services (Guyana) Ltd. is seeking a finance manager to provide leadership and oversight of our Guyana finance function.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, accurate and timely reporting, effective financial planning and analysis, treasury and liquidity management, regulatory and statutory compliance, and robust financial controls. The role will also provide financial insight to support sound business decisions and sustainable performance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, management accounts, and monthly financial reporting for the Guyana operations.
· Monitor financial performance, profitability, cash flow, and key financial trends and provide recommendations to management.
· Manage cash, liquidity, foreign currency, banking, settlement, and funding requirements associated with remittance, bill payment, and other financial-service activities.
· Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company requirements.
· Maintain a strong internal control environment across cash, payments, banking, reconciliations, expenses, assets, and financial reporting.
· Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, taxation, accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements in Guyana.
· Oversee financial and prudential regulatory returns, tax filings, and other statutory financial obligations.
· Lead the year-end financial reporting and audit process and serve as the primary finance contact for internal and external audits.
· Partner with Operations, Compliance, HR, IT, and other functions to ensure financial risks, controls, and implications are considered in business decisions.
· Lead, coach, and develop the Guyana Finance team, including oversight and review of financial schedules, reconciliations, reporting, and other deliverables prepared by team members, while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and strong financial discipline.
· Support specific cross-jurisdictional finance responsibilities, projects, and initiatives as assigned by the Regional Head of Finance, while maintaining primary accountability for the Guyana finance function.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CGA, or equivalent) is required. A master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline would be an asset.
· Minimum seven (7) years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least three (3) years in a finance management or supervisory capacity. Experience within financial services, payments, remittances, banking, or another regulated financial institution would be highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
· Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and practices.
· Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting capability.
· Sound knowledge of Guyana's statutory, tax, audit, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
· Knowledge of Sage/Accpac or comparable accounting software.
· Experience with auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related matters.
· Strong understanding of treasury, liquidity, cash management, reconciliations, financial controls, and risk management.
· Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement principles.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
