Teachers & Salaried Workers Co-operative Credit Union Limited (TSWCCUL) invites applications from suitably qualified and service-oriented individuals for the position of Receptionist/Telephone Operator.
Position Summary
The Receptionist/Telephone Operator is responsible for providing professional front-desk and telephone support and creating a welcoming experience for members, visitors, employees, and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will manage incoming telephone calls, greet and direct visitors, respond to general enquiries, and provide routine administrative support. This position requires a courteous and dependable individual with strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.
• Greet members, visitors, and other stakeholders and direct them to the appropriate department or employee.
• Respond to general enquiries and provide accurate information within the scope of the position.
• Record and relay telephone and visitor messages accurately and promptly.
• Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Monitor visitor access and follow established security and sign-in procedures.
• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, correspondence, and deliveries.
• Assist with outgoing mail and courier arrangements, as required.
• Maintain telephone directories, contact lists, visitor logs, and other reception records.
• Provide general clerical and administrative support, including data entry, filing, photocopying, scanning, and document preparation.
• Maintain the confidentiality of member, employee, and organizational information.
• Report telephone, reception, or office equipment issues to the appropriate department.
• Provide administrative coverage and assistance to other departments, as required.
• Perform other duties consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
• A minimum of five BJCs subjects at Grade C or above, including English Language and Mathematics.
• A certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related discipline would be an asset.
• Previous experience in reception, telephone operations, customer service, or an administrative support role.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• A clear and professional telephone manner.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word.
• The ability to operate a multi-line telephone system and standard office equipment.
• The ability to manage several tasks while remaining calm, courteous, and attentive.
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, discretion, and professionalism.
• The ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Compensation
The salary for this position is B$15,600.00 per annum.
