The primary objectives of the Logistics Broker are to manage the accurate assignment of tariffs for all imported goods, the rates of duty associated with those tariffs, procurement of all import-related documentation, electronic entry submission, posting within the ERP, and applying all import-associated costs, including but not limited to duty for the purchased goods.
Key Job Tasks.
· Secure all invoices, bills of lading, and permits as applicable by shipment
· Validation of all bills of lading costs along with active resolution with carrier where over or undercharged
· Preparation of cost allocation spreadsheets detailing all vendors, PO numbers and non-duty costs associated with arrival and delivery of the shipment per declaration.
· Responsible for the execution of customs documentation, processes, and ensuring that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods.
· Facilitation and determination of duties and taxes payable.
· Entry submissions of all types and management of same on Bahamas Single Window (BESW)
· The accurate invoicing of purchase orders within the designated ERP
· Posting of all freight, accessorial, shipping and local fees associated with purchase orders invoiced
· Electronic filing and maintenance of the Brokerage files per manifest, ensuring unencumbered future access
· Work in collusion with store Logistics Associate to manage both weekly and monthly posting cut-off
· Executing all tasks within department set deadlines and to the fulfilment of established KPI’s
· Effective and electronic management of changes to both the commodities (tariffs) and associated rates of duty
· Perform field operations such as, but not limited to, expediting and clearing both perishable and non-perishable shipments on a need basis.
· Stay up to date on all Bahamas Customs procedures and information related to the business of Brokerage
· Required to work in collusion with the Logistics Supervisor, Senior Broker, Logistics Associate, Receivers, Buyers, and Store Operations to maintain the efficiency of the receiving and cost allocation process.
Qualifications
• Licensed and/or trained Customs Broker
• Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
• Strong leadership and communications skills
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an inventory-centric field such as Logistics Brokerage, Costing, Inventory Management and/or Purchasing.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Expected to work extended hours and weekends as the job requires.
