Hiring company: The Sheppard Group Source: LinkedIn Job Summary The Corporate Actions Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of corporate actions, securities operations, and related operational activities. The role supports transaction processing, settlement, reconciliations, and data maintenance while ensuring compliance with established controls, regulatory requirements, and service standards. Key Responsibilities • Process corporate actions and related transactions in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. • Maintain corporate action, security, portfolio, and reference data to support operational accuracy and reporting. • Support the timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions and resolution of operational exceptions. • Perform reconciliations and control reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of transactions, balances, and records. • Investigate, resolve, or escalate discrepancies, exceptions, and operational issues as required. • Prepare operational reports and provide support to internal and external stakeholders. • Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives. • Maintain knowledge of relevant products, systems, regulatory requirements, and industry practices. • Provide support across the Operations function and perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities • Sound knowledge of securities operations, including corporate action processing, entitlement calculations, tax treatment and trade settlement. • Working knowledge of custodial and depository environments and portfolio accounting systems. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders. • Demonstrates tact, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information. • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make well-informed decisions. • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed and adapt to changing demands. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with workflow, automation or reporting tools is an asset. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in the financial services industry. • Experience in investment operations, corporate actions, securities processing or a related operational environment is preferred.
