The role ensures that technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, data, IT operations, and digital capabilities are aligned with business objectives. In an Insurance & Investments environment, the Director of IT typically supports technology across insurance operations, investment/asset management, finance, risk, compliance, customer services, and corporate functions. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, roadmap, and technology priorities. Lead IT operations, infrastructure, networks, cloud, applications, and service delivery. Oversee technology platforms supporting insurance, investment, finance, risk, and corporate operations. Manage cybersecurity, information security, access controls, IT risk, and technology controls. Establish IT governance, policies, standards, procedures, and service-management frameworks. Lead digital transformation, automation, modernization, and technology optimization. Oversee ERP, CRM, core insurance, investment-management, financial, and enterprise applications. Manage enterprise architecture, databases, APIs, systems integration, and cloud environments. Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Lead major implementations, migrations, upgrades, integrations, and technology transformation programs. Manage IT budgets, vendors, outsourcing partners, contracts, and technology procurement. Monitor IT KPIs, SLAs, service quality, project delivery, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with relevant financial-services, privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements. Develop data, analytics, reporting, and business-intelligence capabilities. Partner with executive and business leaders to translate business requirements into technology solutions. Lead, mentor, and develop IT managers, engineers, analysts, and support teams. Provide senior leadership with reporting on technology performance, risks, projects, budgets, and investments. Ideal Candidate Profile 10–15+ years of progressive IT/technology experience. 5+ years in Director of IT, Director of Information Technology, IT Director, Technology Director, Head of IT, CIO, CTO, or equivalent roles. Experience in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, wealth management, or financial services preferred. Strong knowledge of: IT strategy & governance IT infrastructure & operations Enterprise applications Cloud & networking Cybersecurity & information security Enterprise architecture Data & analytics Digital transformation Technology risk & controls Business continuity & disaster recovery Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, projects, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong executive stakeholder-management and business-partnering capabilities. Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
