JOB SUMMARY
Lead the execution of furniture category strategies by translating corporate direction into locally relevant assortments, pricing, promotions and supplier plans. Drive category growth, profitability and product availability through effective commercial management, vendor partnerships and cross-functional collaboration aligned with country business objectives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
Category Strategy & Localization
•Adapt corporate category strategies to local market needs and customer preferences.
•Define local SKU mix, pricing ladders, and promotional plans within corporate guidelines.
•Partner with Corporate Category Buyer to localize category strategies and share market insights.
•Align category execution with Visual Merchandising standards and in-store requirements.
Assortment & Category Performance
•Manage SKU selection and optimize category assortments.
•Align assortment plans with demand forecasts and inventory requirements.
•Monitor category sales, margin, inventory productivity, and forecast performance.
•Recommend actions to improve category performance and commercial results.
Supplier & Vendor Management
•Manage relationships with approved local suppliers.
•Support supplier negotiations within corporate sourcing guidelines.
•Ensure vendor compliance with quality and sourcing standards.
•Contribute to supplier performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
Pricing & Promotional Execution
•Implement corporate pricing strategies adapted to local market dynamics.
•Execute promotional plans in partnership with Commercial and Marketing teams.
•Monitor pricing and promotional effectiveness.
•Recommend pricing and promotional adjustments to maximize category performance and ROI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Coordinate with Planning, Logistics, and Store Operations to execute merchandising initiatives.
•Partner with Marketing to support campaigns, launches, and category representation.
•Collaborate with Omnichannel teams to ensure consistent category execution across channels.
•Work with country stakeholders to improve category sales, inventory, and operational performance.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
•5-7+ years of progressive experience in buying, merchandising, category management or retail operations within a medium to large organization.
•Demonstrated experience in assortment execution, SKU management, pricing, promotions, purchase-order management and replenishment planning.
•Experience monitoring sales, margin, inventory productivity, forecast performance and other category-performance indicators.
•Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting commercial negotiations.
•Experience collaborating with corporate or regional teams while responding to local market requirements.
•Experience in furniture, appliances, consumer durables or another relevant retail category would be an advantage.
•Proficiency in ERP, merchandising and data-analysis tools; experience with Blue Yonder or a similar platform would be an asset.
