Senior Electrician

Source: LinkedIn Barbados Company Description Electric Sales & Service Ltd. the leading air-conditioning, elevator, appliance & tools company in Barbados, is expanding its technical portfolio and seeking suitable applicants for the new position of Senior Electrician. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to manage the installation of electrical provisions for HVAC equipment, as well as, end-to-end residential and commercial electrical installations. You will be working in a team and have support where necessary both technical and administrative. Qualifications • Ability to perform and lead electrical work on residential and commercial projects. • Ability to work with three-phase and single-phase systems. • Be able to plan and lay out work to be executed in advance of the work period and to timely request accurate amounts of materials needed, the first time. • Ability to liaise and coordinate with main contractors and other sub-contractors on the job site to minimize electrical rework and other project delays. • Prepare job sites for inspections and routinely follow-up with GEED inspectors. • Be dependable, communicate effectively, and consistently demonstrate attention to detail. • Maintain a high standard of customer service and ensure that your interactions with the public and overall deportment consistently reflects ESSCO’s professional standards. • Work respectfully and collaboratively with all other ESSCO team members, contractors, and departments. • Possess a light goods vehicle license and be able to travel. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: • Be an Electrician or Certified Electrical Wireman with at least 3-8 years’ practical experience. • Possess City & Guilds Certification or Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Electrical Installation. • Experience in applying for electrical inspections and working with service providers of Phone, Internet, Security and Power. • Experience in renewable power installations (such as solar, wind), power storage (batteries) and grid interconnection will be an asset. • An understanding of latest NEC and safety regulations in construction and manufacturing environment, the Grid Code and the SHAW Act. • Computer literate with Microsoft Office and email proficiency.
