Position Overview
Construction Manager
Location: Zimbabwe, Harare, Trinidad, Port of Spain, Egypt, Cairo and Bahrain, Manama (lodging and traveling covered)
This position supports DOS/OBO construction projects in OCONUS locations. The Construction Manager (CM) will oversee onsite construction activities, coordinate with contractors and project leadership, review project documentation, and help ensure work is completed in accordance with contract requirements, building codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Candidates should be comfortable working internationally for extended assignments and managing the day-to-day requirements of an active construction site.
- Previous Construction Manager experience on DOS/OBO projects is highly preferred.
- Experience working on international/OCONUS construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of International Building Codes (IBC) and applicable construction standards.
- Experience receiving, reviewing, and tracking contractor submittals.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and jobsite safety requirements.
- Experience conducting and documenting construction inspections.
- Strong understanding of construction reporting, documentation, and project records.
- Ability to coordinate with Project Directors, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred where applicable.
- Previous experience working with DOS/OBO Project Directors and contractors is a plus.
- Candidates must be comfortable with long-term OCONUS assignments.
