Municipal Services
• Manage mechanic shop operations supporting land, marine, and recreational assets, including vehicles, bikes, and boats, ensuring effective preventive maintenance and repair programs are in place.
• Direct security and surveillance operations, coordinating with security personnel and ensuring camera, access-control, and monitoring systems remain functional and properly maintained.
• Oversee waste management and recycling programs, ensuring compliance with applicable Bahamian environmental requirements and the organization’s sustainability objectives.
Utilities
• Manage island-wide fuel storage and distribution, maintaining supply continuity and ensuring appropriate safety standards are followed.
• Oversee grey water management systems, including treatment, containment, and disposal in accordance with environmental standards.
• Supervise power-generation operations, including diesel generators and alternative-energy systems, with responsibility for reliability, maintenance, and capacity planning.
• Oversee the integrated infrastructure used for utility monitoring, communications, and control systems.
• Manage water production and distribution through reverse-osmosis systems, ensuring a consistent and reliable potable-water supply.
General Management
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary operations team across municipal and utility functions.
• Develop and maintain preventive-maintenance programs, equipment logs, operational procedures, and SOPs.
• Coordinate with Procurement on spare parts, consumables, fuel requirements, contracts, and vendor management.
• Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and KPIs for senior leadership.
• Ensure operations comply with applicable Bahamian environmental, safety, labour, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, service providers, and government agencies as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or another relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in operations, utilities, facilities, or infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated experience operating or overseeing power-generation systems, water treatment systems, preferably reverse osmosis, and wastewater management.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary operational teams, preferably within a remote, island, or similarly self-contained environment.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple operational service lines simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy.
Preferred
• Experience within hospitality, resort, private-island, or remote-site operations.
• Familiarity with Bahamian regulatory requirements, including environmental, labour, and import/customs considerations.
• Experience using CMMS platforms such as MicroMain, UpKeep, or comparable maintenance-management systems.
• Exposure to integrated monitoring, automation, or smart utility-management systems.
