About the Role: Why this role matters: CRNCY is expanding its position in Barbados. We're looking for someone to lead the country as local VP—owning the P&L, relationships with regulators and employers, and commercial execution. Responsibilities: • Own the full country P&L. • Define and drive commercial and product strategy, working directly with Credit and Marketing. • Build and manage relationships with regulators and government bodies in Barbados. • Lead employer relations and develop payroll-deduction channel partnerships. • Build and lead a multi-layered local team, from hiring through performance management. • Lead operational expansion where needed — site selection, lease negotiation, and build-out. • Negotiate and establish banking relationships and credit facilities for the country operation. • Track and report on country performance, adjusting strategy as market conditions evolve. What success looks like in 12 months: • Meaningful growth in active customer base, driven by localized marketing and operational execution. • Established, functioning relationships with regulators and government bodies. • A local team built out and performing. • Active employer-relations channels supporting payroll-deduction products. • Country P&L trending in the right direction, with visible ownership of the numbers. Qualifications: • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in financial services, fintech, lending, or retail. • 5+ years in a C-level (or equivalent) role with direct P&L ownership. • Demonstrated experience building or scaling an operation from the ground up (retail, branch network, or similar). • Proven ability to negotiate and establish banking relationships or credit facilities. • Established relationships with regulators and government bodies, or clear evidence of having built them from scratch in another market. • Track record of growing an active customer base through localized marketing and operational improvement. Education: Bachelor's degree required. Who you are: • Strategic thinker with real execution ability and attention to detail. • Strong executive communication skills. • People-oriented, hands-on leadership style suited to a fast-paced environment. • Cultural intelligence and comfort operating across government, banking, and commercial stakeholders.
