This opportunity is particularly suited to lawyers who have trained or practised in Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, the UK or another common-law jurisdiction, and who have experience working in a regional or reputable commercial law firm. ⚖️ What you will do You will work directly with senior lawyers and clients on a varied portfolio including: • Residential and commercial real estate transactions and conveyancing • Commercial agreements and general corporate matters • Estate planning, wills, trusts and succession matters • Private-client advisory work • Property acquisitions, sales, leases and related documentation • Due diligence and transaction management • Preparation and review of legal agreements and corporate documents • Direct interaction with local, international and high-net-worth clients • Research and analysis of BVI and other applicable common-law principles • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships This is not a narrow document-production role. We are looking for someone who wants to become a trusted adviser to clients and develop a broad, commercially focused legal practice. 🌎 Who we’re looking for You should have: ✓ An LLB or equivalent law degree from the University of the West Indies, a UK university, or another recognized common-law jurisdiction ✓ Approximately 4–6 years post-qualification experience ✓ Experience in a reputable Caribbean, UK or other common-law law firm ✓ Strong practical experience in conveyancing and real estate ✓ Experience in commercial/corporate law ✓ Experience with wills, estates, trusts or estate planning ✓ Excellent written and spoken English ✓ Strong drafting, analytical and client-management skills ✓ The confidence to work independently while collaborating with senior lawyers ✓ Experience with private clients, international clients, financial services, trusts or offshore structures would be highly advantageous. 🌴 Why move to the BVI?
