The candidate should be comfortable multitasking and working cross-functionally with different departmental teams. Responsibilities A. Coordination and Supervision • Overseeing of all projects and jobs from inception to completion • Approving materials, equipment and labour for all approved jobs • Delegating and assigning work schedules and tasks to technical employees. • Liaising with corporate or private customers appropriately when necessary in regard to the status of job, site visit or reworks. All decisions must be in line with the strategic objectives and within the framework of company policy. • Monitoring and holding meetings with all team leads • Reporting to Managing Director of all major activities B. Production/ Operations • Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in Production, Fabrication and Garage departments. • Monitor performance and implement improvements where necessary • Ensure quality of products; manage quality and quantity of employee productivity on floor • Create reports or organized feedback pertaining to each job in process, to the Managing Director. • Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary. • Ensure that all works are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements • Perform many periodic, daily walk through of the facility to ensure that all quality and safety standards are being complied with, and submit corrective action request as needed to perspective departments. • Ensure all JSA’s are completed for each department C. Financial • Forecast and ensure all jobs run to scope and within the allotted budget. • Oversee inventory control; ensure jobs are done with allotted material & wastage is minimized • Prepare/ assist with all costing for tendering jobs and quotations D. Strategic Input • Liaison with top management & supervisors. Assist in the development of strategic plans for weekly operational activities based on knowledge of works and jobs in progress. • Assist with the maintenance of QC monitoring programs and controls. • Support new product development and continuous improvement and by integrating quality control tools into processes.. • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization. • Adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work. E. Best Practices • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals and implement departmental and organizational policies • Procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures in accordance with OSHA F. Perform other related duties as required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in a similar role and field • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills • Strong ability to multitask • Comfort working with multiple groups within business
