Our client, a Manufacturing company, is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Costings and Administrative Clerk to join their growing Team of professionals.
Position Summary
The Costings and Administrative Clerk is responsible for providing high level support to the Accountant and General Manager as they manage the company's accounting and financial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Maintain accurate operational, product and costing information within WindowMaker and prepare approved customer orders for production.
• Generate production paperwork, labels, cutting information, material requirements and other required production documentation and send to the Production Team.
• Calculate complete landed costs incorporating supplier pricing, ocean or air freight, customs duties, brokerage, port charges, insurance, local transportation and other applicable import expenses.
• Maintain average cost inventory valuations both raw materials and finished goods
• Ensure the maintenance of accurate inventory records and ensure physical stock movements are properly recorded within company systems.
• Assist with scheduled cycle counts and monthly and annual physical inventory counts, compare physical inventory against system records and investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes. Work closely with Production and Stores to continuously improve inventory accuracy.
• Prepare the Cost of Production journal entries, transferring direct materials, direct Labor, and allocated manufacturing overhead from Work-in-Progress (WIP) to Finished Goods.
• Prepare the Cost of Sales journal entries, transferring from Finished Goods to Cost of Sales and ensuring a match with Sales Revenue.
• Prepare the required reports to ensure that Raw Material inventory is at the required level and that recommended orders go out on time to suppliers to ensure no disruption of production
Qualifications and Experience
§ A Degree in Accounting or related discipline with at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.
§ Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
§ Previous experience in the construction or manufacturing industry would be an asset.
§ Enrolment in, or completion of, a certified accounting professional program is an asset.
