Assistant Shift Miller

Hiring company: ADM Source: Recruit.net Job Description Position Summary The Assistant Shift Miller supports the Shift Miller in planning, organizing, and reporting all mill activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role involves monitoring equipment, assisting with maintenance, supervising labour and raw material operations, and ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Key Qualifications & Requirements •Education: Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology OR minimum five (5) CSEC passes including a science subject plus at least two (2) years relevant experience. •Strong communication, planning, and interpersonal skills. •Organized, motivated, and a collaborative team player. •Basic computer literacy. •Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Food Safety standards. •Safety-conscious with proficiency in forklift operation. •Firm understanding of production processes, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency techniques. •Ability to work overtime, shifts and on call. Key Duties • Ensure proper start-up, setup, and adjustment of milling machines for smooth operations. •Optimize extraction, yield, output, and maintain quality standards of finished products. •Monitor machine performance, process efficiency, downtime, and correct additive treatment levels. •Ensure plant cleanliness, hygiene, and GMP compliance. •Assist with mill floor and equipment cleaning. •Accurately record and report production and personnel data. •Support supervision of labour, raw material intake, and product transfer operations. •Ensure compliance with collective agreements, HACCP, fumigation, and company policies. •Assist with minor mechanical repairs, maintenance, and product delivery operations. •Participate in fumigation preparation and application. •Wear recommended PPE and perform any other related duties as assigned.
