Hiring company: 876 Events Source: LinkedIn Jamaica Job description Shoot Jamaica's biggest events. Get paid every month, not per gig. 876 Events is Jamaica's event management and ticketing platform. Some of the largest promoters and festivals on the island run their ticketing with us. After the night ends, our Gallery is where thousands of attendees go to find and download official photos of themselves. We are hiring a photographer to own that coverage. This is a salaried role, not freelance piecework. It is also more than shooting. You will be the face of 876 Events in the field, building relationships with promoters and putting the platform in front of the people at the party. What you'll do • Shoot a minimum of 8 events per month across Jamaica, from parties and concerts to corporate events and festivals • Cover every event booked through 876 Events that is assigned to you. When an organizer pays us for coverage, you are the coverage • Deliver complete galleries of at least 150 edited images per event, published within 72 hours of the event • Upload, caption, and organize your galleries on the 876 Events platform • Approach promoters and event organizers to book 876 Events coverage for their events • Hand out 876 Events cards to patrons at events so they know where to find their photos • Work with our team on scheduling, coverage priorities, and what is worth shooting What we're looking for • Proven event photography experience, with a portfolio or Instagram we can review • Strong low-light and crowd work. That is most of this job • Outgoing and confident approaching promoters, organizers, and patrons. A good part of this role is talking to people • Fast, consistent editing. Galleries lose value every day they sit unpublished • Reliable. Assigned events are commitments we have already made to a paying client, so showing up is not optional • You must own your own professional equipment. A camera body, fast lenses suited to low light, an external flash, and enough memory cards for a full night. A backup body is strongly preferred. You will also need a computer capable of editing large galleries and a reliable internet connection to upload them. We do not supply gear, so applications without it will not move forward • Based in Jamaica with reliable transportation to events islandwide • Available nights and weekends, because that is when events happen • Existing relationships in the Jamaican event scene are a strong plus What we offer • JMD $100,000 per month, whether it is a busy month or a slow one • Performance rewards on top of salary through the 876 Events Photographer Program. These are a bonus and are never a condition of your pay • Commission for every new event you book for the platform • You keep your credit. Your name runs on every gallery you shoot • You keep your portfolio. You are free to use your 876 Events work in your own portfolio and social media, on the terms set out in our photographer agreement • You keep your own clients. Outside freelance work is fine as long as it does not conflict with an assigned event or with a competing ticketing platform • Direct working relationships with the biggest event promoters on the island
