Hiring company: FAVIO Source: LinkedIn Barbados Overview: Our client is a well-established financial services organization dedicated to operational excellence and employee development. They are seeking a proactive Human Resources Officer to provide comprehensive HR support across the organization, ensuring the effective delivery of recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and performance management initiatives. This is a 3 - 6-month temporary contract which may convert to a permanent role with a preferred start date in August 2026. Duties & Responsibilities: • Administer and execute human resource programmes, including compensation and benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, employee investigations, performance and talent management, employee recognition, occupational health and safety, and training and development. • Provide human resource consulting and support services to employees across the Group of Companies. • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process, including preparing job advertisements, planning interviews and assessments, participating in interviews, and supporting candidate selection in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. • Calculate pay, allowances, incentive payments, and other forms of employee compensation in line with organizational guidelines. • Review pension, life, medical, and other employee benefit programmes and recommend improvements based on market conditions. • Prepare payroll information within established timelines and standards. • Advise employees on benefit changes, eligibility, coverage, and provisions. • Coordinate employer contributions and employee payroll deductions with benefit providers. • Prepare HR management reports, including absence data, staff lists, payroll costs, and other requested information. • Champion employee recognition initiatives by coordinating events, awareness campaigns, and communication plans. • Review HR policies annually and identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration with the Employee Relations Officer. • Support employee relations by providing HR guidance on attendance, health matters, conduct, capability, grievances, organizational change, and other employee relations issues. • Assist with the performance management process by supporting managers and employees and ensuring performance reviews are completed on time. • Support employee engagement surveys, including survey preparation, communication, and presentation of results. • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding programmes, probation monitoring, and new hire orientation. • Conduct training needs assessments, compile annual training plans, and facilitate HR training sessions. • Prepare employee communications and maintain HR communication channels across the Group of Companies. • Attend departmental meetings and deliver presentations on HR-related topics. • Respond to employee grievances in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. • Conduct employee surveys, census activities, and research required for benefit programme administration. • Support industrial relations and disciplinary processes by leading routine investigations, attending meetings, and preparing documentation. • Ensure HR policies and programmes are effectively implemented across the Group of Companies. • Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and management updates. • Maintain accurate electronic and physical employee records. • Perform any other duties ancillary or related to the role. Requirements • Associate Degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline. • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Human Resources Officer role or a similar position. • Chartered accreditation from CIPD (MCIPD), SHRM, or an equivalent professional body would be considered an asset. • Sound understanding and practical application of contemporary Human Resources principles and practices. • Working knowledge and experience interpreting labour laws and employment legislation. • Experience using a Human Resource Information System (HRIS). • Excellent computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite. • Good understanding of compliance, audit, and operational risk practices and policies. • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
