Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of Manager, Compliance in our Compliance & Risk Management Department.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Co-ordinating, directing and controlling the functions and activities involved in Compliance, including but not limited to, maintaining a compliance obligations register/matrix and conducting enterprise wide compliance risk assessments.
• Ensuring that all statutory obligations/requirements are met and all related reports are submitted within the required time frames.
• Identifying and monitoring compliance risks arising from regulatory changes, external market changes or other environmental factors.
• Conducting Compliance self-assessments and assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the Company’s Compliance Management Framework.
• Carrying out investigations as may be necessary in respect of the compliance process and preparing necessary reports.
• Co-ordinating the development of policies, procedures and standards for managing risk pertaining to the company’s products, processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• A first degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law or other relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or relevant equivalent professional qualifications.
• At least five (5) years’ working experience in a similar position or auditing experience at a senior level.
• Thorough knowledge of the legislation governing the provision of life insurance, pension administration and investment services. (e.g. the Companies Act, Insurance Act and Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, Financial Services Commission Act, General Consumption Tax Act & Regulations, Pensions (Superannuation Funds and Retirement Schemes) Act and Income Tax Act)
• Sound knowledge of risk management, control and audit procedures.
• Knowledge of investments management, global markets and developing trends.
