Role description

Hiring company: Guyana Revenue Authority Source: Guyana Revenue Authority Job Responsibilities • Reading, sorting, and analysing incoming and outgoing correspondence and reports to determine their significance and deliver to the appropriate section or unit accordingly. • Scheduling meetings, recording and distributing minutes, and assist in providing secretarial support for workshops, conferences, and trainings. • Preparing agenda, correspondence, and reports, as required, ensuring a high level of accuracy and appropriate form of presentation. • Ensuring prompt dispatch of correspondence as well as acknowledgement of those received for necessary actions to be taken. • Receiving and screen visitors and direct them to the appropriate officers depending on their reason for the visit. • Connectingor redirecting incoming and outgoing telephone calls, depending on the area of interest for appropriate attention, and maintain the telephone register. • Operating and maintaining office equipment, including computers, printers, photocopiers, and facsimile machines, ensuring that they are in working condition. • Filing, scanning, maintaining, and retrieving documents and reports efficiently and effectively in accordance to departmental standards and filing system. • Coordinating and requesting vehicles from the Transportation Unit when the need arises for relevant travel arrangements to facilitate staff of the Department. • Performing routine tasks pertaining to the daily operations of the Section for the accomplishment of team results. • Any other related duties assigned. Job Requirements • Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)/ Diploma in Accountancy/ Public Management, Communication, or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience. • Sound knowledge of the mission, mandate, goals and objectives of the Guyana Revenue Authority. • Sound knowledge of Office Procedures and PC Applications. • Excellent organisational, customer service and multitasking skills. • Assertiveness and ability to be team oriented. • Excellent initiative, judgement and report writing skills. • Basic knowledge of record keeping and good filing skills. • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines. • Ability to be flexible, eager to learn and pay attention to details. • Critical ability to gather, manipulate and analyse data and report findings. • Ability to motivate others and facilitate team work. • Sound Integrity, mutual respect, accountability and professionalism
