We are seeking an experienced Account Associate II to join our Joint Commission International-accredited hospital system in New Providence, The Bahamas. Responsible for performing Corporate Finance duties at a competent level. This position is responsible for executing daily cash reconciliations, reviewing cashier transactions for accuracy, identifying and reporting errors, and escalating discrepancies as needed to ensure proper resolution, and other duties as assigned.
Accounts Associate would be responsible for:
• Prepare daily cash reconciliation & verify daily cashier’s worksheet and recap to sub-ledger and general ledger.
• Confirm deposits as per the deposit register with bank statements.
• Reconcile & investigate any cashier differences within an established threshold and report variances to the Director and Manager of Patient Registration.
• Inform the Manager within 24 hours of any missing deposits or discrepancies for action to be taken.
• Prepare reconciliation for credit card payments, following up on outstanding items monthly.
• Reconcile credit card payments to the bank statement.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation by the 25th of the following month for review by the manager.
• Prepare daily treasury reports for the CFO by 10am each day.
• Assist with the automation of the bank reconciliation process.
• Maintain the banking relationship and coordinate all follow-ups and requests with the company's financial institutions.
• Prepare all necessary journal entries for suspense accounts and bank charges and credit card discounts.
• Assist with the month-end close and financial reporting of the company.
• Assist the Manager with ad hoc reports as requested by the CFO, SVP, and/or VP of Corporate Finance.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area
Experience
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position
• Exposure to other accounting functions
Skills
• Excellent computer skills, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite and internet programs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as good telephone skills.
• Ability to multi-task; analytical skills a must.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
