Role: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Port of Spain, Trinidad
Reports to: Direct Report to GM / Functional Reporting to Regional LATAM CFO
Summary
The CFO Cluster is responsible for leading the full finance function, ensuring strong financial performance, governance, and strategic alignment with Group objectives.
This role combines operational finance leadership, business partnering, and transformation, acting as a key member of the regional leadership team and a strategic partner to operations, commercial, and Group finance.
The CFO Cluster drives financial discipline, cash optimization, performance management, and value creation, while ensuring best-in-class compliance, reporting, and internal control standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Financial Governance, Reporting & Internal Control (R2R)
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting aligned with Group standards
• Lead P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, ensuring full reconciliation between management and statutory results
• Deliver actionable insights explaining financial performance and operational variances
• Guarantee audit readiness and zero overdue audit deliverables
• Enforce strong internal control framework, mitigating fraud and compliance risks
• Drive closing ambition and improve reporting efficiency
• Monitor and remediate internal control deficiencies
2. Cost Control & SG&A Optimization
• Drive strict cost discipline across SG&A and operational expenses
• Lead cost-saving initiatives
• Improve cost transparency and allocation accuracy across entities
• Partner with HR to control and forecast personnel costs
3. Order-to-Cash (O2C) & Working Capital Optimization
• Optimize collection strategy, credit policy, and dispute resolution processes
• Reduce DSO and improve cash conversion cycle
• Ensure high-quality invoicing and cash application processes
• Manage bad debt, provisions, and write-offs
4. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Excellence
• Ensure efficient and compliant payment processes
• Improve automation and reduce manual interventions
• Strengthen control over trade costs and vendor management
• Support system implementations
5. Treasury & Cash Management
• Lead cash optimization and repatriation strategies
• Ensure strict adherence to Group cash policies and thresholds
• Manage banking relationships, liquidity, and financing structures
• Optimize guarantees, collateral, and funding costs
• Support regional cash management transformation
6. Tax & Regulatory
• Ensure full compliance with local and international tax regulations
• Optimize tax exposure and identify savings opportunities
• Support tax transformation initiatives
7. Strategic Business Partnering
• Act as a key advisor to the CEO/GM and leadership team
• Drive profitability improvement and revenue optimization initiatives
• Lead pricing challenge and cost-coverage strategies
• Identify and support M&A and business development opportunities
8. Finance Transformation & Systems
• Lead implementation of key finance tools and process improvements
• Drive automation, standardization, and data quality improvements
• Ensure alignment with Group digital finance roadmap
9. Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead and develop the finance organization
• Build a strong finance pipeline through talent development and mobility
• Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and business partnership
• Promote ethics, compliance, and customer-centric mindset
Key Performance Indicators
• 100% on-time financial reporting and forecasting
• No overdue audit reports / strong audit outcomes
• SG&A and OPEX performance vs budget targets
• Improvement in DSO, overdue receivables, and cash conversion
• Cash position maintained within Group thresholds and increased cash repatriation
• Delivery of cost-saving initiatives and performance improvement plans
• Successful implementation of finance transformation initiatives
Personal Qualifications
• Proven experience as CFO / Finance Director / Senior Manager in a complex, multi-country environment
• Financial control & reporting
• Business partnering & performance management
• Cash management and working capital optimization
• Experience in logistics, shipping, or asset-heavy industries is a strong plus
• Demonstrated leadership in transformation and system implementation
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and influencing skills
• Ability to operate in a matrix, international environment

Scope
Geographic: Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Guyana, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Suriname, Grenada
Functional: Full finance scope
Education/Experience:
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics
• Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, including exposure to financial control, FP&A, and treasury
• Proven track record in multi-entity / multi-country environments
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Manager, Finance Director, Head of Finance, or CFO level)
• Experience managing large, diverse finance teams in a matrix organization
Strong background in:
• Financial reporting and internal controls
• Business partnering with operations and commercial teams
• Cash management and working capital optimization
Industry experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or asset-heavy industries is strongly preferred
Language Ability:
• Fluency in English is required
