Backed by a $427M national investment, the organisation is establishing a Next Generation Meteorological Watch Office that will transform aviation safety, severe weather forecasting and airspace operations across one of the world’s busiest flight corridors. This is a rare opportunity to leave a lasting legacy while helping define the next generation of aviation weather services. ⸻ The Role: As Chief Meteorology Officer, you’ll provide the strategic and operational leadership for the organisation’s newly established 24/7 Meteorological Watch Office. You’ll be responsible for developing the operating model, establishing forecasting standards, building and leading the meteorology team, implementing operational procedures and ensuring the delivery of world-class aviation weather services in accordance with international aviation standards. This role is suited to an experienced aviation meteorology leader who has already managed an operational Meteorological Watch Office, National Weather Service, Air Navigation Service Provider or comparable aviation forecasting operation. ⸻ What We’re Looking For: • 10+ years’ operational aviation meteorology experience. • 5+ years leading an operational Meteorological Watch Office, National Weather Service, Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP), Civil Aviation Authority, military weather organisation or equivalent. • Proven experience leading operational forecasting teams supporting live aviation operations. • Strong experience with AWIPS II, Tomorrow.io or equivalent operational aviation weather platforms. • Deep expertise across aviation forecasting, tropical meteorology, severe weather operations and ICAO-compliant forecasting environments. • Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 3, WMO standards and aviation meteorological quality systems.
