KPMG in Caricom is seeking to hire a dynamic, results-oriented and highly motivated Tax Assistant Manager. The successful candidates will supports the delivery of high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to a portfolio of local, regional, and multinational clients of KPMG. The role requires strong technical knowledge of tax legislation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while supporting Managers and Directors in the execution of complex tax assignments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage day-to-day execution of tax compliance and advisory engagements for a portfolio of clients across multiple industry sectors. • Prepare and review corporation tax returns, tax computations, deferred tax calculations, VAT returns, withholding tax filings, and other statutory tax submissions. • Assist with the preparation and review of technical tax opinions, advisory memoranda, and client correspondence. • Research domestic, regional, and international tax legislation and provide practical recommendations on tax matters. • Support advisory engagements involving corporate restructurings, business acquisitions, tax planning initiatives, transfer pricing matters, and cross-border transactions. • Liaise with the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) and other tax authorities regarding assessments, objections, audits, tax clearances, and compliance matters. • Assist audit engagement teams with reviews of corporate tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and tax-related disclosures in financial statements. • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and communicate implications to engagement teams and clients. • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding ongoing engagements, information requests, deliverables, and outstanding matters. • Prepare engagement budgets and monitor progress against timelines and budget expectations. • Manage work-in-progress (WIP), support billing processes, and follow up on outstanding client receivables as required. • Ensure engagement files comply with KPMG quality standards, risk management requirements, and documentation protocols. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within engagement delivery. • Supervise, coach, and provide technical guidance to Associates. • Review work prepared by Associates and provide timely, constructive feedback. • Support training initiatives and contribute to the development of junior team members. • Participate in client proposals, presentations, and business development activities. • Collaborate with colleagues across Tax, Audit, Advisory, and regional KPMG member firms to deliver integrated client solutions. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. • Professional accounting designation (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) • Post-graduate qualification in Taxation is an asset. • Minimum four to six (4–6) years of relevant experience in tax compliance and advisory services within a professional services environment. • Prior experience within a Big 4 or international professional services firm is preferred.
